seems ok to me.
1200l/hour flow rate over the two pumps will give you over 20x turnover :good:
Sailfert seem to be the most favoured test kits though, with refractometers being prefered to hydrometers.

the amount of water flow you have around the tank. The 450 comes with an 800l/hour pump and you are buying a 400 which gives you 1200/lhour total. Meaning you have over 20x the total volume of the tank which is 58l iirc. 20x turnover is recomended when keeping a reef which you may wish to do so in the future.

i reckon with the kit up there you should be able to run a basic set up if you are careful with water changes and keep on top of things. I reckon you may need a bit more live rock in the long run aswel.

What do you plan on keeping?

turn over is the amount of water movement. in a marine tank you need 20 * water movement to volume so 58*20 is 1160 or roughly 2000

Don't forget though to allow for displacement of your water by sand, live rock and equipment etc. A 100+ ltr JBJ that I drained a little while ago only had between 60 and 70 ltrs of water in total so this can effect what sort of powerhead you put in!

I think that 30-40% displacement would be fairly typical for a marine reef. This should also be considered when dosing/buffering the tank.

I think you need at least 6Kg of LR - Google the lbs per gallon or Kg per litre for LR and you'll see a few differing opinons but either way 2.5Kg is not nearly enough. If you are buying your LR over the internet you will end up paying a fortune in postage (due to the weight) if you make multiple purchases. Save up and buy all your LR at once since when you spend over £50 the postage will be free.
I used 9Kg of sand in my 450 and put it in after the LR (to stop burrowing things from de-stabilising the rock; so said the internet!) and this gives about an inch depth of sand. 4Kg would be ok but if you want to keep sand burrowing snails I'd go for 9Kg.
Not sure how i put this into the original post - it was obviously a reply!

Free postage and packaging and i know im going to get bwt 10 kg in the end just for nice aquascaping its justr 2.5 to help the filter first

1) Can i use tetratest freshwater kit all in one it tests ph KH GH nitrate and nitrite i will ammoina aswell :D
2) Will i need more live rock than 6kg

the LR will cost you 75 punds for what you want from charter house. i recomend you go either API or salifert for test kits. i think 8 kg would be sufficient 6 might not be enough.

Ok but could i not use my freshwater tests i mean whats the differences the test ph ammoina carbonate general hardness and nitrate nitrate :D :D

Jay

i dont know if you can the only one i know of. is API 5 in 1 test kit. that does GH KH PH NO2 NO2 and then buy the amonia one separate
