My sister has a marine tank and has a problem so I thought Id ask on here as I have no idea on marine tanks. There are a load of white things 'infesting' the tank they sort of look a little like small white snails, but the dont appear to actually be snails, they are on the glass, on the live rock and on the snail shells. Sorry that its a crap description but thats all she's said! If you have any ideas please let me know.

Do they look fuzzy? I have those too I believe they are snails egg.
Do they look like they are curled up? They are probably copods.

Get a pic or something.

sorry cant get a pic i dont live near my sister I saw them briefly yesterday when i was over there but wont be going again for ages, they look a little like a snail side on sort of curled, Ill have a look at copods. Def not eggs

Perhaps a Stomatellid? Flat Worms? Stomatellids are good herbivores, so keep them. If its flatworms, you might want to do a bit more reading on the subject, there are a range of different treatments, but we couldnt start recommending any until we know more about the tank and its design etc.

Its neither of those either, thanks though. As far as I know they stay still

Sorry I dont know a huge amount about the tank as its not mine, I think its about 20 gallons, mixed sand and coral substrate and some live rock, 2 clown fish, a shrimp, a blenie of some kind and a yellow coloured angel and a crab and a few snails, her water stats were all fine all the fish seem healthy.

try and look around this page
I'd agree with EversurF probably Copepods
but like ski said... are they moving? lol
Ter

I think they stay still, will look at that page thanks

doesnt look like anything on there

Ah, they're a species of tiny feather duster worm. If you look really close at the end of the tubes you might see some feathers poking out of it. They're filter feeders and will wax and wane as conditions in your tank changes.

i do believe your talking about these white things like that on my small shells

sorry i don't know the name but someone will after they see them
