ive been reading up and thinking about doing a nano marine as some of you know. anyway its going to be a ten gal. the fish i like are
ocellaris clown, maroon clown, yellow stripe maroon clown, black and white percula clown, black onyx true percula clown, true percula clown, purple firefish, red firefish, neon gobby, and golden neon gobby. i know i cant get all of these of course but i want to know which are suitable for a 10 gal, farely easy to take care of and what are some possible combos?

Ocellaris or true perc are more visible. Firefish is hardy, but, can be shy and hide under the rockwork. Neon goby's are hardy. SH

i got a firefish the other day he isnt shy at ALL he has his little cave he sleeps in and goes in when he gets scared (tapping on glass)

but he is out swimming in the front all day, really awesome fish.

i love my firefish...

I've never found firefish to be particularly shy either.

Billa-bong, please don't tap on the glass.

based on the info from liveaquaria.com i have decided to get 1 ocellaris clown, 1 purple or red firefish, and 1 neon or golden neon gobby. will they be ok together and is this ok for a 10 gal?

sounds like you will be oversocked to me with all those, its only 10 gallons

i wasnt gonna get all 5 if thats what u meant. the clown is deffinate. then i would like to get a firefish which i cant decide between either the red or the purple one. after that i want a neon goby and i cant decide between the blue or the gold. in the end it would just be 3 fish.

:*) ive been thinking ocellaris when i meant true percula the whole time :*)

right now i am favoring this combo: 1 true percula(3 inches), 1 purple firefish(3 inches) and 1 neon gobby(2 inches)

would this work at all or do i have to leave out one fish

mkkk thx for the info, it was accident anyways when i was showing my aunt.

thanks mom.

In a ten...I wouldn't add more than one fish or 2 extremely small 'nano' sized fish. That is the negative side of a nano system.....you CANNOT overstock. As soon as you get that 'I'll only add one more fish' thought in your add, the system risks goin' down.

As for the firefish..depends on the individual. I've had two...one swimming out all the time. The last one I got is deathly afraid and barely leaves the rockwork. So..with everything....there are variations. They DO like to keep a 'darthole' which usually also is where they live and sleep. SH

thanks everyone. when the time comes i think ill get a percula clown and a purple firefish if that is ok. as soon as i start(probly wont be till after christmas unless i get lucky)ill make a journal for you all.

Will this be your 1st marine Tank

Post away then...we'll follow. Keep in mind...some people would claim that a percula and a firefish in a 10G is overstocked. if it was my tank, I wouldn't do it. It probably will be fine if you do your water maintenance. Welcome aboard. SH

thanks. i have been dong research for a few weeks now. i think im ready to begin but first i need to upgrade one of my FW tanks and my goldfish tank. then ill have an empty 10 gal i can use(once i clean it out of course) and then i just need to start getting money together to start getting equipment and stuff together to start my marine tank. i cant wait :p
