Marginal pond plants

Hi.Have just bought a couple of marginal pond plants for my pond.
How deep do you put them in the water?
Is it level with the container,just above,or below?
Also,when you buy them from the stores,is it best to re-pot them?

We always repot ours ,use hessian as a liner then aquatic soil and top with stones.Our marginals, the water is just above them ,they are growing ok.
 
It depends on the species, but most will be fine if the pot is submerged. :)
 
Some garden plants you can use as marginals,long as they are bog loving plants.
