I have 3 leopard danios and 4 blue danios in a 65 gallon tank (with other fish). I know that danios are "easy" to breed and scatter their eggs. I'm really not planning on raising any fry, but I thought I could add something to the tank to give the eggs and any surviving fry a chance. I already have some dense plants for the molly and platy fry to hide in. I just need something that could help the eggs. I know I've read somewhere that people put marbles in their tank, so the eggs fall through, and the fish can't get to them. I have sand in my tank, and was considering adding some "clumps" of marbles here and there. With this work at all?

Try Cardamine lyrata, easy to grow and my perals have just spawned in them! :D

Egglayer fry are very small, and very stupid. In the wild, a few survive because of the large volumes of water involved. In a tank, unless you are extremely lucky, they won't survive long, whatever you do.
