I think I'm looking at either an aro or a catfish to go in the 480 when I get it done with those guys...Maybe not. What do you guys think?

Also The tank that is housing the knives right now has an 8" dempsey. They were in the same tank when I got them. Should I leave it with them when I move them into the big tank or seek other accomodation for it? (this will mean it will be in a divided tank with my oscar and the electric blues on the other half since the theoretical odds are better on keeping those together than trying to grow the O out them put it with the jd..er maybe?)

The jd hides a lot but it's always right alongside the clowns and the smaller of the two clowns often rests right next to th jd when it's not in the pvc tube.

what are the dimentions of the 480 going to be?
how many feet long?

Well do you want this tank to be like a tank for one super aggressive fish? Or do you want to have lots of fish?

I don't want them all to kill eachother if that's what you're asking. I figure I've got room for one more large fish and maybe the dempsey if it keeps being good...

You could put an aro in there. Probably a Silver. We have a Silver Aro at work that is about 14". Its in a tank with 1 clown knife, a perruno cat, a pseudodoras niger, a royal plec....etc.

They have big jaws, thats the thing to remember.... But besides that they are fairly clueless. You would be surprised what can work. I have 3 x 1" african cichlids in my 6 ft tank with a shovelnose catfish.

The main thing is, With a tank thats 480Gallons you have many options. Dividing it in half would certainly prove interesting.
