hi guys, has anyone kept one of these mantis shrimps before?? i got a small 1" - 1.5" peacock mantis and iv been recommended by my LFS to feed margarita snails and blue leg hermits (small) and my mantis hasnt eaten any one of them since. the odd thing is that when i stuck a piece of defrosted krill right next to it, it took few bites out of it but that was it. as for the blue leg hermits i tried feeding it, it just whacked it a few times but ignored it and wouldnt eat it for some odd reason, anyone know why or tips to encourage feeding??

thanks

ps. i just got it a few days ago, am i rushing it a bit too much??

They are certainly very cool critters - hope you have got it in an acrylic tank

I'm sure as soon as it is hungry it will eat :look:

Got any photos?

Haha, ill try to get some photo's up when i have some free time. But for one thing, i know its eating because his morning as it was peeping out of its hole in the rock, i gave it a piece of krill and it intelligently took the krill off from the stick i fed it with. These shrimps are by far the most fun creature i have kept in the hobby, these guys trace your every movement with their complex eyes, so cool!!

But as time goes, i have been observing it and i thought it would reveal some better colors but no, it might not be a peacock afterall :-( . But ill try to get the pic up, maybe even a short video too :D .

Thanks!

i am so jealous, what size tank have you got
