Already posted this in member's pics, but I figured ya'll might like to see it too. Finally, Synirr the die-hard freshwater hobbyist gets sucked in

Handfeeding him again, only this time he was hungry :)

Here's a short version without audio for dialup-ers

Some of his most interesting behaviours can be seen here. I put rubble in his burrow so he would push it out, after which he cleaned his eyes ^_^

Updated pic of his home, it is becoming a reef. I keep picking up corals and frags... I have actually paid for three whole corals now, instead of just stealing all the frags from work! We don't sell our tiny frags anyway, so I don't feel bad about it. The rubble arrangement at the entrance to the cave is his doing.

Big mussel (?) I found at work, with a cool yellow frag attached. ID on this, anyone?

Thanks
Adam

Ahhhh the FW stigma broken! :shifty: What pet DONT you have now then Synirr? You must be getting close to being recognized as a museum "collector" of unique and beautiful fish species.

:hi: to the dark side Synirr :D

Does the mantis have a name?
Is it an O. Scyllarus?
Where did you get him?
How big is the tank?

I uh.... didn't pay for it . It was a piece of dying crap when I took it from work, haha... I think it was in the $25 tank, though. It was unattached.

He doesn't have a name yet, but he will. I am trying to think of a good one. He is indeed a male, too, so if any of you have any suggestions... :hey:
Yes he is O. scyllarus. He came in at work and I let him sit up there for a whole week before I just couldn't stand it anymore. I decided to take him after I thought, for a brief moment, that a customer was going to take him and almost had a heart attack! "Not MY mantis," I thought. He is the nicest one I have ever seen, not very aggressive at all.

He's in a 20g right now, but moving to a 40g acrylic as soon as I get another tank to put the current inhabitants in.

EDIT: Oh, and some more videos :). This one is him vs. an emerald crab
