Hi i have 4 BN fish, all about 2 years old and about from about 6cm to 8cm.

one is big and broad with loads of bristles so am convinced he is a he. Another is smaller and not as wide but with lots of bristles,so i think he is also a he, but the 2nd two are smaller and dont seem as wide, they do have bristles but are only short.

I would love to breed these but as i have had them a while now and no babies i fear they may all be male. Is it possible for the females to have brisles? I ve look on the threads and googled and just finding that females have now. Is this correct.

thank you in advance

females have bristles but they will only be small and around the lip, whereas males go up the snout between the eyes too :good:

Most female BN's wont have bristles at all but if they do the will as lilfishie has mentioned, only be around the edge of the lip whereas males will have them going up there rostrum.

looks like 4 males. 2 have definate brisles up there noses, the other 2 have very small ones but they are there, along he lip and up the nose....have to try to get a female
