Male Cherry Barb

i took down the divider and my male cherry barb is constantly chasing my two females again. should i give away the male because i worry that he's stressing out the females?

If your stocking is correct in your signature, I believe adding more females would help. Or try separating him for 2 hours then return him to the tank and see if he has calmed down. Also higher temperatures like 79-84 will cause fish to breed more.

i don't have room to add more females, because i plan to use the 10g to quarantine 4 otos (1.5" each) in the near future. also, i have tried separating the male from the females, but as soon as they are reunited, the chasing resumes.

I had cherry barbs and they chase anything that moves.
If you can't add more females i'm afraid you are going to have to rehome him.
