My male BN seems to be getting aggro during feeding times. He has started to chase others off the pellets and Cucumber. Have not noticed it before but do they tend to do that a lot ?
My Pleco shy's away but then returns only to be chased off again. This goes on for a while until the BN has had it's fill. Is this normal ?

I have to say that my male BN is exactly the same...when the cucumber hits the floor, if you're a fish, stay well clear!
I personally find it rather amusing. It's as if he's saying to my africans, you can try if you want, you may have teeth, but I have armour!

Cheers

Gordon

Sub-adult and adult (especially male) BN's do have a tendency to be aggressive to their kind and other species! It's pretty common. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless he starts causing injury!

Thanks for the info.
He does move with a bit of pace. Will keep an eye on him and if it gets out of hand Ii will have to re-house him.

Try feeding more than one slice of cucumber, position the slices at opposite ends of the tank, same goes with feeding other foods- it'll give the other pleco's a chance to feed on the other side of the tank why he is concentrating on his food.

my female bristlenose was like that with my pleco, then my pleco got bigger and tables turned, every pellet or piece of cucumber that went in the tank the pleco claimed as his, no other fish cauld get any where near it.
