The males are slimmer and much smaller with more erect skinnier fins.
So if you do a water change with slightly cooler water it might get them interested when they mature fully. I am thinking another female would be good if you've only got two and they turn out to be one of each sex. I couldn't tell the difference with certainty when I bought my last 3 until they got abit more mature than when I bought them. In my 29 gallon the laid corey eggs are eaten by other fish pretty fast. They show up as tapioca sized white circles on the glass sides of the aquarium. Good luck! Not true, i have 2 pepper cories (yes i know not enough) and they spawned twice now and i have some of their new fry chilling in a smaller tank and seem to be doign just fine.sylvia said:Females are larger and, when viewed from above are obviously wider. The fins on females are also more rounded.
I doubt they are breeding if you only have 2. If they aren't even the same species I can tell you this for certain and I doubt they would breed if not kept in a good-sized shoal anyway.
What you are seeing is their extremely social behaviour. They are very friendly fish and interact amongst themselves in such a way that I would say is unrivalled by any other catfish. Wonderful critters![]()
