I bought 30+ trumpet snails which i have kept in a small aquarium and i read that heat made them reproduce quickly.....
i kept the filter and the heating on in the tank and i noticed after 2 days there was a lot of black dots across the top of the water....i later discovered these were little tiny baby snails.
I removed 10 of the adults and placed them into my large aquarium and they seem to be getting on ok however rarely see them but i turned off the little aquarium i was keeping my snails in to stop babies because i am guessing i have 20 adults in the gravel but my glass is covered with baby snails in all sizes and there are always more when i look every day lol.
How exactly can you keep these snails without then reproducing so quickly? Are they ment to have a filter and a heater and i read they were ment to be kept in hard water - however unsure what exactly hard water is, i just know it as that hard white crust you get in washing machines lol.
