I'm thinking about mixing different fish foods and ingredients to make my own food. What combinations do you suggest?

Include dandelions. They make great fish food. Of course avoid pesticides and weed killer.

We used to make marine mix at the shop. We used a meat mincer and blended up white bait (or some other white flesh fish), blue sardines, squid and prawns (without shells). This was all mixed up after being minced and then put in plastic bags that were flattened out to about 4mm (1/4 inch) thick and frozen in sheets.
We also did the same mixture but added blended up spinach and called it marine green.

You can freeze them in sheets or put them in small icecube containers. When frozen take the cubes and put them in a container with lid.

The marine mix was a staple for meat eating fishes. The marine green was more for omnivores. These were used in conjunction with dry flake/ pellet foods and other frozen foods like brineshrimp, daphnia, mysis shrimp and bloodworms.

Fish food created at home is a perfect supplement for broccoli, zucchini, carrots, apples, pears, peas and oranges. Those who make their own fish food prefer using spirulina powder as a food additive. Spirulina powder is made out of cyanobacteria and is high in minerals, vitamins, and amino acids.

This is interesting to me. Any good way to clean them to try and get away any potential pesticides or weed killers that could have seeped into or onto the plant?

The entire dandelion plant (pesticide & herbicide-free, of course) is safe for human consumption, as well...you'll find dandelion leaves in many salads

Roots, stems, leaves, and flowers...all of it safe to consume...and healthy

I have heard this! I've just always been too scared of the chemicals that are everywhere to bother trying
