I want to make a 29 g tank by my self. Does anyone here knows how to make one that can share it w/ me? Or is there a website that i can follow? Of course i'l need to know what i need to make it; so if there's anyone who previously made one; please help me or give me a website to follow on. Thanks.

Hi. Usually it is cheaper just to go and buy a tank, but if you really want to make one then you'll need the glass, some aquarium silicone, and some sort of frame for the bottom and top of the tank. After that you just have to put it all together making sure that it is water tight. Good luck if you do try to do it.

I agree with previous post, it's generally cheaper to buy one than make your own, mainly because the manufacturers are in a stronger position than you when it comes to buying the materials. But don't let that put you off if you feel it's something you really want to do!.

If you are trying to the make the tank in order to save you money then as already said it is unlikely that it will.

My other half made one of our tanks and although it was quite to be able to say "I made that" i would probably not do it again unless we were looking for a very odd size tank and even then it may be cheaper to buy elsewhere.

If you want to make the tank so you can say "I made that", then go for it. We were only making a smallish tank and therefore was able to use a large amount of Duct tape to hold it together while the silicon was drying. If you are making a larger tank then frame work would probably be best.

It's cheaper to buy tanks under 125 gallons usually, you might be able to buy a used tank from someone for cheap.

If you want to build one, you have to decide if you want to go all glass, all acrylic, or using other materials like wood, epoxy, or pvc sheet.
