Soo, I have two 30 gallon tanks and i bought 2 clown loaches about 2 week agos an added em to my tank with my larger pleco, featherfin cat, 2 pictus cats, BGK, rope fish and 2 convict cichlids. One of the loaches was fine, swimming all over, eating well, full of color and energy (the smaller one of the 2 ironically). The larger one found a hiding spot and just laid for days. I know they play dead but i was honestly worried. He was pale, never saw him eat, never saw him swim around.

Today i figured I'd try them in the other tank (mollys, angles, kuhli loaches, smaller pleco and a leporinus). Instant success. I dunno if he was scared or what. As soon as i put him in he was a different fish. Hes swimming all around and at feeding time I threw some frozen blood worms in and he was gobblin em up! Hes so full of energy now!

Honestly, I feel so much better. I was really worried. I feel this tank woulda been the better tank for them in the first place :S What was I thinking. Anyways, I figured this experience might be helpful to someone else in the future. Thanks for listening guys!

Clown loach cannot go into a 30 gallon tank. They'll reach 16+ inches and need a 4x2 minimum as babies and a 6x2 minimum as adults. Also I think your first 30 gallon is terribly stocked IMO.

Thank you, I agree 100% with you. I was given my first tank and started getting into it so i would just go and buy whatever fish i liked. I admit i was very undereducated about fish. I'm trying to make due until I upgrade which should be very soon. Most of the ones i have in that first tank will get 1 to 2 feet i know, but sadly i didn't know that at the time of purchase. I'm definitely planning on fixing it before its too late. Everyone's fairly small right now, but i know the sooner they get a bigger tank the better. Thanks for the advice. I'll take it!
