Can anyone help, I have treated my tank for ich (first dose of meds, can put anymore in til tomorrow), lost 1 fish so far, thought the problem was getting better, but woke up this morning to find at least another 6 fish(4 of which are my dwarf gouramis) with spots.

Also managed to get a glace of my plecs fins and he is getting covered as well, and that is a lot of spots on a plec thats over 12inches in length!

I have raised my 300 litre tank temp to 28/82 then put in the meds, checked my ammonia and nitrite levels before I did this and all was fine.

Is there anything I can do to help stop it from spreading, I don't think that the med has worked very well, or am I just being impatient :)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

It seems like it has already spread. I think you should keep medicating the entire tank and hope for the best. Use the maximum possible dosage and make sure to follow all directions (if they say to remove charcoal and so on).

In the future, when you see one fish with Ich, take it out and put it in a hospital for medication and to prevent spreading. Then treat your normal tank with a preventative dose so what ich is in there will hopefully die off.

I actaully use an ICH preventative in my tank 1x per week at each water change. I have only had 1 ich breakout in over a year.

Good luck!
