Im currently thinking about another new tank, this time mbuna.
I just wondered how much if any, more maintenance is required than that of a tropical tank. I currently change my water 10% every 5 days for both my other tanks.
My PH is already high from tap so I wouldn’t have todo anything with that.
Should regular tests be conducted etc etc? Im just after a quick guidline on how much time and ive got to put in.

thats about all thats required .. if you have a white substrate algae scraping is more of an issue, but even that isnt too bad. less maintenance than a planted tank

In terms of maintenance - it's exactly the same as a community tank. The main thing to consider is filtration - Mbuna tanks tend to be overstocked to help with aggression issues and this requires plenty of filtration, think at least double what you would normally put on a community tank, 10x volume per hour as a minimum.

Agreed, and because you'll be overstocked, you'll want to do larger water changes, 30-40% every week would be good.
