Ummmm, what? Sorry, but my brain isn't making sense out of that post(other than the last half of the sentence).

A governing body you can complain to about them, who go round and give em some stick

I searched long and hard to find a mail order plant place in Canada. Ottawa Aquatics was pretty much the only one I found. Most "Canadian sites" tended to be fronts for US sites, and I was told that ordering live plants and stock from the US is not attractive for Canadians for some reason, to do with border crossing rituals/costs or some similar bureaucratic nonsense.

I first posted the link to OA in a thread a long time ago, and I've posted it a couple of times now. The general response has been positive, I was thinking about adding it to the suppliers sticky actually. I trust your call though Colin. Which leaves us with the same dilema we had before, when people ask for online plant places in Canada, what can we suggest?

I think it was one of your posts (either to me or another Canuck) where I first read about them. Of all the posts I've read mentioning Ottawa Aquatics (here and other sites), the only time I've read of someone receiving an order was through a phonecall (and after many unanswered emails). Other than that all the posts die right after OA is mentioned. It could just be that no one has bothered to post a followup order showing off their new plants, but I find that a little difficult to believe. We Canadians do still appreciate the effort of your searches, Lateral Line. I've seen one other Canadian online plant store, however it seems to me there were no pictures of any of the plants, and not the greatest selection. I know DeltaGuppies.com has a few plants, and by a few I mean 4.

Thanks for the explanation corbypete. I think that would be something along the lines of our "Better Business Bureau" here in Canada. Something to look into, perhaps.... I think first I'd like to find the posts I've read stating the same problem I had and email them plus this one to them. To miss an opportunity to be placed on the pinned (if I understood that coreectly, LL) Planted Tank Links thread on the Online Plant Sales means their unfortunatety going to miss out on some free advertising (the best kind).

Try www.birstall.co.uk for Tropica brand plants from Denmark. They have a pricelist on their website along with general information on he different species available. These plants are very healthy specimens grown in pots and are far superior to weedy cuttings.
