Addicted and in Therapy
As many of you know, a few weeks ago I ordered a green masked (copper geno) HM pair from Aquabid. A LOT of crazy things happened with this first experience of mine. First of all, the seller lives in Florida, so had been having some hurricane issues, and wasn't able to send them out until yesterday.
Well, I was going to be gone a lot of the day, so I called my neighbor and asked them to sign for me if I wasn't home, then left a note on the door. However, as soon as I walked in the door after the dentist, the doorbell rings. The lady said they had arrived late at the post office, and weren't going out with the normal mail, but she had a few other things to drop off, and somehow knew they were fish. Perhaps she is another aquatic lover? So she brought them by. It was very nice of her!!
Opened em up to find a pretty sickly female. She was laying on her side breathing heavy. When I got her in her tank I seriously thought she died. She floated to the bottom, laid upside down on her back, and didn't breathe for a few minutes. All of a sudden, she heaved one big gulp, and then started gasping like crazy. I was absolutely certain she wasn't going to make it. I had to leave for another errand, and two hours lady came back to find her right side up, breathing nearly normal. Whew. That was a huge surprise, if she makes it in the long run she's gonna have a name like "Miracle". I really don't know if she will though, she's still laying about with clamped fins. Very unhappy.
The boy is very perky, pale, but gorgeous. I'll post a pic of him. Of course the female is the reason I purchased the pair, sheesh.
The weird thing? These fish came with an ICE PACK between them?!! What is up with that?? It wasn't hot here or in Florida, and I don't see how it coulda done the fish anything but harm... Odd.
Here's the boy. He should end up more of an emerald green, which the female is right now.
