I've had one of these little scrubby things for a while now, and is it just me or are they as much use as a peashooter in a gunfight?

Anyone else found this?

And are there any alternatives to keep the inside of my glass spankin clean?

I've never used a magnetic thing, ... mostly because my main tank is a bowfront, and it doesn't seem like it'd work too well on the curved glass.

Personally, I usually just use a scrubber sponge. That requires you to get arm-deep, though.

There are plenty of different kinds of scrapers available, too.

It might be just the one you have, i use them on all my tanks and im happy with them, just go over it once a day or every 2nd day.

I have always used a magnetic cleaner, The trick with them is to use them often to stop the build up of algae, Mine works great but i do have a long scubber for the places my magnetic cleaner wont go.

My algae magnet is quite good, but if there is a stubborn spot, I use a scouring pad that I have specifically for aquarium use.
