Was Looking at Mums Vases with her Silk Flowers, that we got from Brummy Flower Warehouse.

Remembered that you can use silk Plants.

Took out some rather old and faded plants and made 2 new displays. They are Copper/Gold Leaves on Copper Colored Twigs.

They are in Luke warm water ATM, to Make sure that they colors wont Run and Pollute the Tank.
How Long Should I Soak them For?????

Will Post Pix Of Tank on Friday Bros Is Coming Home For Mothers Day and will Bring Back my Nice Digital Camera.

I will Post Loads of My fish in all there Glory so that i can finally show them off Properly. :D

Gonna Get A Clip on Red Light Today so that I Can Get Photos of Kuhlis and AFrican Butterfly Properly, AS More Nocturnal.

Plants are in the tank now and they are really bright. The Light is shimmering of them and it is lighting up the fish as they swim in it.

They are exploring the leaves and the Female Bettas love it as they see their reflection in the plant.

Emerhald the big guy loves it.

Will Try some other variations using other silk plants we have lying around.
Will amake a trip to the charity shop. They always have displays of Silk Plants and they are dirt cheap.

Sounds good. So long as the colours don't run (and you tested them) it'll be fine.

Can't wait to see the pics :D

Thanks RSZ

m8 how do u get plant to sink?

live or fake?

live, normaly have lead weights on wrapped round them or in little tubs, u just bury them in the substrate.

fake, u can attach lead weights to them, or useing sealent attach them to rock/bogwood ect

i had some realy nice fake moss wich i brought from a craft store, sadley cant use it as it leaches green dye into any water it comes into contact with, this is after soakin it for a week :(

As Said I use "Supa" Plant Weights, Usually cost 50p for about 30.

just make them into the bunches you want and then, twist at ends and wrap plant weights around base to weigh down.

What I have Done is:

Small Silk Green Leaves, A Couple Of Roses. Then Twisted the ends and add Plant Weight. Then AS with This Morning's Leave them in a Jug of Lukewarm Water to Leach out any Dust and Residue.
Rinse thoroughly in hot water making sure removed any gunk.
Arrange in the Tank.

I have Used More Gold/Copper Stems and Added Blood Red Roses and Maroon Roses to make a Display. Now for these as they are Larger I did not use Plant Weights.

What I did was recycle the bases from the plants I removed. Clean them up. Cut off the Excess Stems and then Attach the Flowers and Leaves. They all have the Little holes at the end so you can push them on.

Hey Presto large Display.

Will try the charity shops for more interesting plants and also make a trip to HobbyCraft and see if they have any silk Plants reduced aswell.

Also I have changed the background of my Tank.

I have used the Little Posies of Plastic Plants that you hang from the edge of Vases.
Simply same procedure making sure they are soaked for a while and the attached to the back of the tank glass using suction pads, the same ones You use to Keep Airline hoses in Place.

Rose Posies

Background

same but in gold with copper stems
