Macroalgae?

I'm not sure what this is growing on this piece of driftwood (see arrow). I looks vaguely like a type of macroalgae you would find in a reef tank refugium. My algae eaters and snails don't bother it. My nitrates stay very low, but there doesn't seem to be enough of this to contribute to that. It only grows on this piece of driftwood and not on any of the rocks or other driftwood.

Sure looks like Java Moss to me also. I have Java moss in my Fire BellyToad tank, and a nice piece I trim in my fish tank that I attached to a rock a few years ago, nice centerpiece. Looks like Java fern that was maybe attached to something you added, it will take root and spread. And yes, it will attach to wood and will slowly grow and spread. My opinion, I’d leave it go for now. It’s a nice addition to drift wood.

Interesting. It must have come with the driftwood, but that piece has been in the tank for a couple of months. There has never been any Java moss in there. Bonus! Thanks for the replies.
