Hi all :)
I have a question for you,
I'm a big Apple fan and someone showed me this website Macaquarium. I really like the Imac one and was thinking of getting it as a home for either a betta or a couple of dwarf puffers, but I'm a bit worried that it might not be safe for them.
Does anyone have any views on this?
Cheers
Liz :D

Well, its my opinion that aquariums should be aquariums and not ornaments, however from what I've read on their site it seems to be safe for fish, I'm not sure quite how they do it, I think they just place a small acrylic tank inside the mac. As for what water volume it will hold, I don't know, probably enough to hold a betta or a couple of White cloud mountain minnows.

So at the end of the day, in my opinion if you like it then go for it, but it is quite a lot to pay for such a small tank (imo).

i love the idea but ... the puns
They're H2O Compatible!
128bps (bubbles per second)!
heh cool link i have to say they do look a little pricey but i like tham allot.

Seems to me to be the kind of thing thats neat at first, but will soon lose it's appeal. It's bound to be stuck in your attic or basement in a few years. Not very flexible, meaning you can't stock it with very much.

And of course the price. For that price you could get yourself a very nice sized aquarium fully running and stocked. And even if you are looking for a small aquarium, you could save yourself a lot of money with a 10 Gallon, or even a 15H. Or perhaps a Mini-Bow for around $35.00 US. How's that for savings?!

Hmmnnn, Yeah they are a bit pricey considering their size but I already have 3 tanks and I only really wanted one to house a puffer or two
Besides, I'm moving into a halls of residence at uni in September and as I don't think I'm officially allowed to have any pets there, I thought if I get the Imac one then noone would notice I was breaking the rules ;)

I agree with skiltrip...

I can see a lot of people with no experience or real interest in fish, getting this item as a novelty. I think that in those situations, the buyers aren't always serious about proper fishkeeping and want more of a conversation piece than anything else; I can easily see the fish not getting proper care or attention. I know that this is a huge generalization but I think that it has some truth to it. It would be great if Macintosh would include a booklet on proper fish care and aquarium maintenace with this product or at least include a link to a site such as this somewhere prominently in the paperwork.

Any why on earth don't they call them...

Macquariums

Isn't that a lot catchier than Macaquariums? The people in marketing need to rethink their pitch. :p
