Just wanted to show of a little unknown shrimp that I spied yesterday in my tank.

And finally her(?) with some cherry shrimp

It appears that she might be a chameleon shrimp (or it could be some random local creek shrimp that is not yet named - plenty of Aussie inverts are still unknown scientifically) most likely Caridina serratirostris although she could also be C. sp WA4, what ever she/ he is I like it :good: and I was happy to find it again this morning still black with the bright tan stripe down its back.

respeck.. Nice find..

its a stray "wood" or "Bamboo" shrimp.
and a fan feeder at that.

Sorry Raptorrex, we don't get "wood"or "bamboo"shrimp here in Australia, as far as I know the only filter feeder shrimp we do have naturally is Riffle shrimp (Australatya striolata) :good:

Some of them are snail eggs the other stuff I dont know, the shrimp seem sort of interesting on eating it. Its only a recent development in my tank and water changes hasn't stopped it. I would take the timber the moss is growing on out and rinse it properly but the moss is literally full of all sizes of shrimplets and I know from past experience they are all but impossible to get completely out of plants, even the adults have often gone for unexpected rides when I have been removing plants.

Tip....when shrimp are involved always check the floor in front of tank when doing tank maintenace prior to taking a step.
