Has anyone put Lucky Bamboo in their Betta tank, or heard anything about it? I went to Wal-Mart tonight and they had it in all their tanks, just curious if it's an OK thing, cause I have some here at home and might try it in one of my tanks.

I have. It didn't work out. The bamboo started to die even though I used aged water, and I think it started to release bacteria in the water because my betta started to get fin rot.

He's fin now and nothing terrible happened, but the bamboo didn't live long.

Whoa, am I glad you made this topic. I'm setting up a 2g betta tank this weekend, and planned to put some of that lucky bamboo in it. Obviously now I've seen the dangers I won't. ;) Thanks!

My mother got a very large vase with a Betta in it last summer. They were selling them at a craft fair. They have gravel, and 2 pieces of bamboo. Both fish, and bamboo are doing fine. Frequent water changes, and root trims. Her betta loves to hang out in the roots.
