I have a 20 gallon tank that I'm cycling with six neons. The fish are doing fine, but i worry about the ph level. It stays up around 7.6 no matter what I do. Does anyone know an effective way to lower ph? Any and all advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Check the pH of your tap water. If you add CO2, it should lower the pH. As should peat moss. You might be able to find the latter at smaller lfs.

They do well in soft, somewhat acidic water. They do well from around 6.5 to 7.0 pH. If they seem to be fine, don't worry about it. Just keep the pH constant and do more frequent water changes to reduce stress on the fish due to poor water conditions. That should suffice.
