Loud Clicking Noises Coming From Tank

Hi,

As I am sitting here writing this post I can hear loud clicking noises coming from my tank followed by a couple of bubbles. What on earth could it be?

mantis shrimp is my guess, can break glass, and cause a broken thumb or finger

Yes indeed, but may be a pistol shrimp so have a hunt first If it turns out to be a Mantis, someone may want to buy him off you or even your lfs might - some people keep them in Mantis only tanks

Could also be crabs or hermit crabs fighting each other...

i get my clicking noises from my turbo snails. they're quite into spinning their shells every now and then and if one is near the glass, thats where the noise comes up

But he said it was a loud clicking noise - i wouldn't describe the sound of snails shells on the glass or hermits fighting as a loud clicking sound!

Have you ever seen hermits fight seffie? When I had them, mine did all the stinkin time. They grab each other and bash their shells together as hard and as fast as they can. Trust me, it makes a really loud noise

Think I obviously haven't then - mine click against the glass but it's not really loud - maybe you had sumo hermits Ski
