Alright, one tank just isn't enough. I can't help it, I want more.....

So I rearranged the bills and figured out how to buy another tank, but the question is what size.

I was down at Petsmart today and they had a nice 80 w/ light for $190. Is this a good size or should I go with a 90? I noticed 80's are not listed much.

I'm going to do a planted one with this tank, fully planted, and with a tank this big I have no clue how to set it up.

Any advice help here would be nice in the areas of gravel/sand, filter, heaters, etc..., tank size, etc...

Thanks,
Larry

I think that it would probably be better to buy a tank that is a full set and comes with everything. You woould probably save a few bucks and you won't need to waste time making selections for filters and heaters.

I bought my tank at Petsmart, and the filters that they sell in their "complete setups" are the petsmart's brand filter. I chose to piece my own together (I bought the tank/hood combo) so that I could get the filter system I wanted (and it didn't cost that much more). I would just do a cost/benefit analysis....is it worth spending x amount of dollars or not. It worked for me :D

I thought about the kits, but I also know how kits work. Usually they are less expensive equipment that is lower quality, even if the tank is higher quality.

I have to say I was impressed with Petsmart's staff's knowledge and the help they gave. :) Much better than anywhere else I have been in Boise to date, and they recommended another aquarium store that is only 5 blocks from me. :)

What I want is to build a nice "high quality" tank. I'm willing to fork out the money to do so, but will have to do it slow. The tank I know is the first big step, then I need a filtering system, heater system, air pumps, gravel, substrate, etc.....

I want this to be a "true" planted tank, unlike my 29 which is a half planted tank.

Thanks,
Larry
