I'm completely devestated, my cat mitt's went out on sat night and hasn't been seen since.

She's really not the sort of cat to go off for days at a time, she's only stayed out overnight maybe 3 times before and every time she's been waiting on the doorstep for me in the morning. She won't even stay out all evening, she even comes home to use her litter tray, just won't do it outside so for her not to come back for 2 days is completely out of character. I just know somethings happened to her, I'm completely gutted, spent all last night crying, only managed a cople of hrs sleep. Just at work feelign like a robot, I just feel so drained I don't know what to do with myself.

Sorry to hear about your cat! I hope she returns safely! I know its not much consolation but my sisters cat went missing a year ago for over a week and then all of a sudden he turned up safe and well! It could be that someone has locked her in their garage or she could have got in someones house! Dont give up hope on her!

Aww, I hope she turns up soon! *hugs*

Don't give up hope though - my friend's usually house loving cat left for 13 days, they had a memorial and everything. Then she came home absolutely fine.

Hang in there!

I had a friend who had that, they're cat got locked in a garage, when they found her she'd died

thanks everyone, i know she might still come back. I just don't wanna lead myself on. I'd ratehr deal with it now and then if she comes back yeah that'd be amazing but if she doesn't I've already dealt with it. Might sound a bit funny but life goes on and I don't deal well with trying to hold onto my emotions, best for me to just let it all out then I can deal with it and move on better.

I hope she comes back and is ok, probably time for the poster campaign and door to door knocking to ask people to look in sheds and garages. remember to contact all the animal shelters in the area (and though it's awful - the local council to see if she been run over). I really hope you find her, when one of ours went missing she'd been knocked over and one of our neighbours took her to the vets who the proceded to send her to aa animal charity, the neighbours went away without thinking of putting up a notice to say what they'd done - luckily they phoned their mother and mentioned it and the mother had seen the posters we'd put around the place, we were very luck. Is she microchipped?

wish you all the luck in the world - it's so horrid when this happens, just don't give up hope.

yup she's chipped spayed and had her vaccine's all up to date, doesn't stop her getting knocked down though.

I went round last night looking for her, rang the local vets etc, reported her missing with the chipping people so if she does get handed in anywhere they'll ring me straight away.

Gonna do some posters and leaflets in work today to put through doors and round my area.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear :(
Hopefully she'll show up. I had the same thing happen with my cat a couple of years ago. I held onto hope for 4 days, then cried my eyes out for nearly a week. :-(

So sorry to hear :-( It's so distressing isn't it ? I really do hope she comes back.

I'm sure you know, but irrespective of who finds her where, all authorities will scan her for a microchip.

It might be worth getting a photo and some fliers and just walking around your neighbourhood actually knocking on people's doors asking if they have seen her or to check their garages and keep their eyes peeled. Leave a flyer with them with your number so that they can call you.
I did that after my kitten was missing for a week once and found someone had actually taken him in and locking him up :grr: So you never know.

Very best of luck

Yeah I know, I've just done some leaflets with a picture and some contact info on, I'll go round tonight putting them through doors asking if anyone's seen her and to check garage's etc.

Doubt if anyone's tried to adopt her though. She's deifnately a mummy's girl, she only just tolerate's Ian. Anyone else she's likely to attack, if someone has got her I doubt they'll keep her!

Oh im so sorry to hear this, you are doing all the things i would do like posters and reporting her with the chip people, how about putting her fav food out on the doorstep, i used to do that with mine when he went missing and it turns out that all the time i was shouting him and getting upset he was sat in the bushes watching me and would come running out as soon as he saw the dish the little bugger. My first cat used to go for over a week at a time and flit between my flat an my mums flat over a mile away and im sure he had a secret home in between.

im not gonna tell you not to worry cos i know myself that you cant help but worry, i hope shes home soon and wondering what all the fuss is about

be a bit pointless putting her food out, my front door goes straight onto the road and there's about 30 cats down my street, I don't think a bowl of tuna would last very long!!

Im sorry and I know how you feel. One of my cats got out over a month ago. We never really gave up hope and just keep looking for her and she came back about a week ago. She is a little thin and shaken, but, Im glad she is home. Ive heard cats can find their way back from 2 miles away. I hope yours comes home too.

I am so sorry to hear this Miss Wiggle, specially after everything started to go so well with the kitten! I really hope she will come back.
We have a 14 year old cat called Misty, and we got 2 tom kittens 2 months ago. She took to them the same way as Mitts did ... and while she was inside a lot before that, she became more of an outdoors cat after we got the kittens. It might be possible that having the kitten around is making her just stay out a bit longer and that she will return within a couple of days =) I really hope she will.

Unfortunatly, that's not true. We had a car get hit in front of the gym last year and called the RSPCA. They asked us if the cat was still alive, to which our answer was 'We dont know, she was a minute ago but she isn't moving now. It might just be shock though'. Their answer to this was 'oh, she's probably dead then. Is she wearing a collar?' She was and wasn't. It wasn't a normal collar with an address on it, but a flee collar. Which to me is a sign that she was a pet. You can image how shocked we were to find out that their next sentence was 'Ok, we'll send someone over to come pick up the corpse tomorrow'. We weren't even sure the cat was dead yet at that time!

We were shocked and angry, but got completely thrown off by how badly they treated us. We were the ones that made posters, put them up and waited for the owner to ring us. Which she did, the next day. This cat turned out to be under 2 years old, made a pet from stray, a mother of a litter of 8 ... and chipped. But they never even thought of coming out to check whether she was chipped or not.

Unfortunatly the cat had already been collected by the time the owner called ... and they musn't have checked the chip after collecting her either, because the owner never got word that their cat had been run over and died apart from us.
