Hello TFF. I lost a White Skirt Tetra today. It had been in various tanks over the last six years. I used six female Guppies and six of the White Skirts to cycle a 45 gallon tank six years ago or maybe even longer and they all survived. The Guppies didn't last as long as the Tetras, though. I'd like to contact the internet people and have them revise their stats on the life expectancy of the White Skirt Tetra.

Tetras thrive in soft water, guppies thrive in hard water...your source water must be soft, if the guppies didn't last long

Sorry for the loss...

Hello 10 Tanks, sorry to hear about your loss. To prevent further premature losses I recommend you implement an aggressive water changing routine, doing 50% or more on a weekly basis to make sure your tanks are clean and your fish stay healthy 🧐

:banana:sorry, couldn't resist

I agree that it sounds as it you gave it a long full life. Sorry for your loss.

Hello Captain. That's a good one. I get it. But, just maybe my preaching is starting to get through. For example my six year old Tetra that had the benefit of large, frequent water changes its entire life.
