I lost a bristlenose pleco over the weekend. He was really skinny and didn't seem happy for the month that I had him (he also brought white spot in with him). The other one seems fine (female I think as no bristles)......

Is it ok to keep a bristlenose on it's own or should they always be kept in at least pairs? The two that I had seemed to chase each other with intent to do harm (and not cichlid-like play chasing).

Thanks

Bristle-noses are fine on their own in my experience - they aren't really sociable fish.
