Lost 1Month Old Fry Today

So I was looking into my tank to see what's happening with my females and something terrible clicked in my head

Where's my baby Molly ?!?!? Moved plants looked in my internal nothing.

Thinking to myself surely it's not been eaten as its to big to fit in anyone's mouths

Then the Missus pipes up what about your new filter ??? My answer was simple it won't fit as I've put a awesome DIY strainer in the vac tube. But to prove her wrong I looked anyway and to my horror it was stuck between the strainer and the vac pipe where one side wasn't pushed up properly!!!

So I quickly cut the filter power off and pulled him out and the force of the filter vac had ripped the poor fishes head off.

The filter responsible is a ehiem 2217 so a pretty powerful. But it's mainly my fault as I should've checked it lesson learned I guess

Do you have a fish hatchery or a fry tank with a small filter as they would be safer in there by the way i have 1 fry in my tank which is under my moss ball

Yea I've got a fry trap thing is they've been swimming around in the main tank for couple weeks.

I think the 2217 had to much of a powerful suck for it to be able to get away
