Can anyone tell me how long it takes the male canary before its song returns to former glory instead of sounding like a bird that doesn't know what it is.

Just came out of a moult, song restorer provided everyday, moulting tonic in water also provided.

It looks like a border canary.

Not sure what they are like over there but in the UK mine always used to stop then start in the spring again for the breeding season

My male canary always sings a little less in the Fall and Winter than in Spring and Summer. But he never stops, even when moulting. But I have an odd bird, and now that I live in FL, where it's nice all year round, I'm pretty sure his internal clock is permanently messed up. He still has a big, fat mouth. Good luck with your bird, however. Is he still eating and drinking? How is his excrement? Do you have a picture of your bird? Mine's a red factor intense. Sorry for the questions.

Is he still eating and drinking?

Yes still eating and drinking normally

How is his excrement?

Everything normal in that area.

Do you have a picture of your bird?

Sorry can't provide one, (no digital camera, no scanner) could use my cell phone I spose, I see if it does emails. He is yellow, slightly frosted.

It's my mothers canary, I have one of my own and he kicks up a storm. In saying that he is kept in the porch that runs along the back of my house, so he gets the same conditions of a canary kept in an aviary only he is in a cage, and never covered. My mother keeps hers in her lounge and covers him everynight before turning on her lights.

Actually I wonder if I took my canary down to her place, and kept it out of sight but in hearing distance whether that will give her bird a bit of encouragement. They try to out sing each other right?

What do you guys think?
