My tank right now looks very clear except when you look closely there's all this particles that looks like dust floating around my water, all my fish seems to be just fine no weird behaviour, but i'm was wondering if that's normal my water's not misty or anything and my tank just cycled:blink:

I'm just a newbie myself, but I thought I had the same thing until I noticed the particles would disappear after a little while. That's when I realized they were very small bubbles from my air stone and filter :*)

Mine doesn't, you'll only notice it when you really stick your head and look on the glass very closely, The water is clear, it's not misty, i declorinate my tap water very well every water change. Does anybody knows what could this be and should i be worried about this cause i've notice it almost since day 1.

Is there any filtration or water flow in your tank? non filtered tanks get standing water and over time this goes semi-stagnant this causes the surface of the water to collect bits and bobs from the air. The dust etc doesn't sink due to surface tension. Get some water flow in your tank and it should go ;)

I get the occasional dusty stuff in mine as well. In my tank it's from the wood/plants and occasional sand particles. Looks like tiny stars in the sunlight. Very pretty. :)
Like yours, my water isnt cloudy- just "dusty",lol. Adds depth. :D The fish like to attack them, lol.

I do run a filter and there's plenty of water movement no signs of stress on any of my fish so it shouldn't be a concern right!

yeah mine is sometimes dusty, and my fish are really healthy. so no problem. dont worry bout it

Some pet/fish stores carry these little floating balls that catch surface gunk. Probably only $2-3. Never tried them, but one store in my town has them in every tank.

Bit of dust is no problem - a sheen on the surface could indicate some kind of airbourn contaminant from maybe smoking or airesols/polish/airfesheners etc....

:)
