Hi There,

I am looking to buy the following 48" x12" x 18" Tank with following equipment and livestock

ARCADIA T8 LIGHTING UNIT

*RED SEA PRIZM SKIMMER

*EHEIM EXTERNAL FILTER

*2 POWER HEADS

*2 AQUARIUM HEATERS

*DIGITAL THERMOMETER

*2 HYDROMETERS

*1 BOX OF WATER TEST KITS PH,AMMONIA,NITRITE,NITRATE

*2 EMPTY KENT MARINE TUBS (USED FOR WATER CHANGES)

*2 CONTAINERS FOR R O WATER

*VARIOUS WATER TREATMENTS (PICTURED)

*LOTS OF LIVE ROCK AND CORAL SAND (ALL THAT IS PICTURED

1 PICASSO TRIGGERFISH 2.5-3''

*1 FUZZY DWARF LIONFISH (VENOMOUS) 3.5''

*1 YELLOW TANG 3''

*1 REGAL TANG 3.5''

*2 BLUE DAMSELFISH 1.5''

*1 SPINY PUFFER 7''

My first question is, can I keep any kind of coral in this tank, I am looking for some nemo's and the host anemone?
Also, it seems a strange combo of livestock, is this recommended or am I better trying to off load the puffer and lion fish?

Thanks

hmm.. ok well you might not like what im about to say but here goes anyway....

1 PICASSO TRIGGERFISH 2.5-3''

*1 FUZZY DWARF LIONFISH (VENOMOUS) 3.5''

*1 YELLOW TANG 3''

*1 REGAL TANG 3.5''

*2 BLUE DAMSELFISH 1.5''

*1 SPINY PUFFER 7''

Your tanks is 37.4 gallons (Imperial gallons) so this means ditch your entire stock of fish as theyare completely unsuitable for a tank of this size.

The tangs need a minimum volume of 100 gallons.

The puffer is probably equal to this in requirments and creates an enormous strain on the bioload once this fish reaches its enourmous size!

The 2 blue damsels are ok but due to their very nature they are aggressive and will pick on other fish. Eventually they will "own" the tank

The fuzzy dwarf lion.. hmm. perhaps this is okj to keep but caution when putting other fish smaller in the tank as it will see them as food.

WIth the fish listed (basically the puffer) definately not.

ALso with your current lighting (T8s) its simply not enough light for corals.
As for anemones, definately not. The light required for an anemone is far greater than you have at present and not only this, anemons are extremly difficult to keep as they need such specific water peramters.
If you want a host for clowns then use a Sarcophyton (Leather mushroom) as these are gret hosts for clowns and far far easier to keep.

Sorry if this is not qhat you wnted to hear but its better to tell you now than later when troubles arrise.
