I was looking for some pics and common additions for a puffer tank. What can be added what cant. I know invertibraes will get eaten eventually and stuff like that, but a little confused on some saltwater terms. I have read plenty to say that puffers are not a reef safe fish. So what exactly does that rule out? No LR at all? if there is a thread that explains this in more detail please show me. Thanks for help.

Reef-safe means that common reef inverts and corals will be okay, that means hermits, snails and ornamental shrimp, all of which are eaten by puffers; and Corals, which puffers don't really eat many of, although I would avoid anything expensive or high maintanence because polyps could get ripped and nitrates will be way to high.

So, no shrimp, crabs, hermits, snails, limpets, tube worms, LPS, SPS, small fish, anemonies (Aptasia and Mejano are Kosher and would probably be a good idea) and clams ; and Yes to sand, rock, sponges, polpys (especially ones like GSP) and MAcro Algea, MAcro Algea will go a Long way towards holding down the les desitreable kinds of algea like Bryopsis, and provide hiding spaces and possibly a food chain for puffer food items, I sugest Ulva sp. Sea Letuce as every herbivorous invert seems to thrive on the stuff and it grows quickly and beautifully green.
