Looking for females

I decided I want a few females..to "tease" my males with..since the new tank I am building houses them together but seperately..with the shades that pull out to allow for viewing. I'm hoping that would raise their spirits somewhat.

I haven't seen any females I would even consider buying lately. I have seen some females with loverly colors before but now cannot find any that are pretty at all.

I want some with dark colors..where do you find these kind? All the ones I see for sale are light colored and not very...pretty at all.

I want 3, and I would love to have a dark blue, a dark green, perhaps a white (so long as it doesn't look pink (they look kinda raw-ish to me lol), or maybe a red.)

If anyone knows of anyone who has..or you have some yourself... like this please let me know .

I know this is not the time of year to start looking because of weather and all....but I figure if I start looking now..in a few months I may have something lined up.


And like I said, these are not for breeding..so they don't have to be perfect fish..I just want the colors to be pretty lol.

Well as long as they are not Veil's I'm not "really" concerned about it, since they aren't for breeding.

I guess I'd say either Crowns, Delta's, or Half moons...since that's the type boys I have.

Crowns are probably more expensive then I want to pay for pet fish, although I do think they are pretty.

I'm not a big fan of Double Tails...but if the coloring was nice, I'd consider them as well.

I got a gorgeous dark red female at Superpet for $4.. turns out she's a crowntail, and they didn't notice.

Just hunt through the girls at your LFS and you'll probably get lucky!

My bettas all came in today and they are very beautiful colors. I am breeding my halfmoon turquoise male again with a new female rosetail halfmoon. Here is the female and she is very good looking.

The off-spring should be green, royal blue and steel like mom. Even she bring melano gene too. The male already proof to be a great father because the babies I got are stunning. He got doubletail geno and will throw out 25% in a batch. Just wait for my news. # months should know how the babies look like.

SRC, you can have these three girls who have been sitting here on a shelf,doing nothing,being bored (they need a life!) if you'll pay for the shipping (overnight,around 24.00).
No biggie if you don't like them or want them,just thought I'd offer since you asked. The two CT's are mustard gas sisters (about 7 months old) and the delta is also a MG (same age,give a week or so). She colored up nicely after she went in full flare . The MG seems perfect,just a little too pale for show and the CT's just have minor flaws in their anal rays.

Do these girls stay in a tank together, or are they kept in seperate containers?

They will probably be kept in seperate divided sections (1.5 gal each..shared water though) in my new tank...but if you think they would prefer being together...I could put them in the rear section of the tank (3.5 gallons..still shared water) and let them be together.
