Hi i know its a silly question but im looking for cat clippers to buy. Ive got two persians that need a trim & none of the groomers do cats by ours :( , Does anyone know a online store that sells them?

Any help will be appreciated!! :)

Any local pet store should have some - or even any vet in your area - would save you on postage for such a tiny inxpensive item ;)

I could try the vets i suppose, but they always over price everything. I know i need to get a good set because the fur is so soft. Human clippers go nowhere near it, I feel a bit sorry for them because its coming into summer.

Ah you mean to clip their coats - not their nails ??

Sorry, can't help you there :/

I groom cats professionally.
Pet shop clippers are not suitable & not safe for the cat. PM me & I can direct you to a supplier that wil sell you a professional set for around £100.

Very few groomers clip cats as they are very different from dogs, have fragile skin & you don't want cats & dogs in the same room.
(not to mention that many people wait until the coat is beyond saving before they bring the cat & it is frustrating to not be able to do an attractive job.)

I have a half persian here with a persian coat and we made the mistake of trying electric clippers. What you need is the WAHL hand clippers, they work wonders and leave a professional finish, and they aren't electric and therefore aren't scary. They also don't cost anywere near £100, they're only £9.99 on this link:

I'm pretty sure we used electric Wahl clippers to prep animals for surgeries (and also matted coat clippings) when I worked as a VN. But wouldn't have a clue where the public could buy them.

You will probably find the cheap wahl ones will not go through the coat very good.I Bought a set to use while my good ones blades where in getting sharpened and I found them rubbish.Saying that it depends how good a clip you want as i was clipping a mini poodle in Full lion clip for champ shows at the time

It would probably take me a long time to cut the cats fur with the small hand clippers. Thanks for the info though! Ive just got a cordless shaver of a professional pet website, managed to get some conditioners for their fur also! :good:

It takes me 5-10 minutes to clip Grace, maximum (and she's half feral). I think Graham was talking about the blades on the cheapy WAHL electric clippers, not these hand ones, as these are blimmin sharp and have lasted me ages. :)
