Ok. We're looking to upgrade my tank from a 29-Tall to most likely a NORMAL tank - 55 is what we've been aiming for. I'm going to use the tank to house a couple of catfish, my common pleco (for when he gets bigger) and some Lake Malawi (African) Cichlids.
Would a 55 Gallon be sufficient, or - since I'm shopping, should I spend a few extra bucks and get something a tad bigger?
Also, we'll be moving in about 6-8 months (looking to buy a house, living in an apartment now - hence the small tank)...we're thinking about just waiting to buy the tank (or at least just setting it up) after we've moved. (Less hassle, and leaves us plenty of time to shop.)
What would you guys recommend? Have any problems buying used? Any brands that you guys like? Should I go with Acrylic vs. Glass? If I go with Acrylic - and I set it up in the apartment, how hard will it be to move when we buy a house?
