looking at cichlids

I would like to get some cichlids for a 50 gallon tank I just got. I don't want too many in the tank, but I would liek something pretty, and not too big. I was origionally going to go with rams, but I dont know now, I might want something a touch bigger for a tank that size. I don't plan on any other kind of fish but the cichlids.
Any ideas?

Some to consider are Kribensis, Keyholes or Firemouths.

why not try severums, they are cool and wont grow that big

In a tank that size you could try angels, discus or other mid->top water cichlid along with kribs, butterflys or other bottom dweling dwarf cichlid, for a bit of range
