looking 4 a book

Personally, I find The Interpet Bumper Guide to Tropical Aquarium Fishes (compiled by Dick Mills) to be a good book on tropical fishkeeping (i.e. tank selection, lighting, filtration, maintenance, health care, etc.). It contains general information about more than 250 types of tropical fishes and mentions briefly about Betta splendens on pages 148 and 149.

If you are looking for a book that provides detailed information about bettas (i.e. species, housing, feeding, breeding, genetics, etc.), Bettas: A Complete Pet Owner's Manual (written by Dr Robert Goldstein) is highly recommended.
