 well if any of you remember abount a month ago i tried my first breeding attempt with my white dtpk and it didn't work so i move the pair back to their own tanks and just left the tank set up as i have been so busy. so went into the breeding room today to get some tools out and guess what i found in the "empty" breeding tank, a perfect little white/golden plaket or female. i nearly had a heart attack and started rushing round to try and set up some where for it to live  by my working out it is about 1.5 months old and it has survived on it's own without me feeding it and no heating or filtration at all
everybody say hello to cilla

WOW! Thats incredible!

For a month and a half the little guy (I mean girl) survived without food or a tank cleaning or anything. Awesome!!!

*Waves to Cilla* That is so damn cool, what a great story! Keep us updated on the growth of your super-baby!

I'm kinda missing how it could grow with no food and all..but congrats on your baby.

Wow! that's one tough little cookie!

Did you have live plants in the aquarium, must have been feeding off them or something. I know Bettaman had a spawn that he didn't realise was there but think they were only a couple of weeks old but not sure :dunno:

Good luck with Cilla :D

If there were live plants or even enough bacteria she would probably have enough planaria and/or infusoria to keep her going for a little while . . . without siblings to compete with she'd also have stood a better chance (or maybe she killed them all off and ate them :shifty:).

Either way, congratulations on your surprise girl! Anything that stubborn is worth hanging on to

The decay of live plants would encourage infusoria and the planaria, so that's probably what she fed herself with, then; quite a resiliant little lady/fellow! Again, congratulations

That's remarkable! I had a lone, overlooked fry once, who a member dubbed the name LionHeart. I only missed him for like a week or so though. That's crazy that she lasted so long (and grew!). Is she properly developed for that age....ventrals,labyrinth, finnage?

wow thats brill, she sure is a lucky little on, i think maybe she did eat the dead or killed to survive so long.
