this out of order ive had fish 4 about 10year never saw anything like this b4 i was doing a removil 4 sumbody & thay had a tank with 4 pleco in it wot thay wanted dumd out the back as soon as i saw the stait of thim i took them it`s just a shame 3 died but save 1 witch after 3month is doing rell well u can still c the bone sticking out the top fin but apart 4 that doing good


has any1 seen any thing like this b4 & dose any1 no if it will fully recover

If the sore gets down the base of the fin it will nor heal. and will have a gap in the fin as the i belive the fin above the gap will die unless it's got a supply of blood.

These fish are very hardy though and will not die unless their very old or mistreated. Sep when their old fish (over 10")

oh m8 i wish i took pic of thes when i got them thay had ever prob out there
this is the only 1 i could save them & he seems 2 b fine ive even put him in ma main tank

Hi, I rescued two plecos in a similar state about a month ago, both had torn fins and both had ulcerated eyes. They were in a 3ft x 12" tank with loads of ornaments. Both fish are 14-15" long. Keep the water as clean as you can. I used Melafix to treat the wounds on mine and they have healed great. The one you can still see where the hole was in its tail, its left a large white scar, but it has healed.

Well done on rescuing one of these great fish. I knew nothing of pleco's but have fallen for my two, they have got very tame and the one actually likes being petted!!!!
