Around 4 weeks ago one of my black moor goldfish died. I had two in the tank at the time and the black moor that is left since the death of the other fish has changed dramatically. This balck moor used to be active throughout the day and now he seems to just sit amongst the plants and will only become active when its feeding time. As the tank really dosent have enough room for a second black moor (newbie error made a few years ago as i was poorly advised) im not sure what i can do to perk him up?

Anyone have any suggestions or noticed this kind of behaviour before? Im not sure what is the best move forward if he dosent become more like his good old self. Should i try and find him a new home? If i need to upgrade the tank i would then have to find a new place for my tropical fish as i dont have the room for them all.

Hope someone out there has a solution! :good:

maybe as a temporary solution you could add lots of shiny new live plants and/or an ornament to give him some mental stimulation? I think he might be bored, maybe a different looking environment will help him cheer up?

Ive tried this aswell. Even changed the substrate to sand just before i re-planted it all. He just acts lifeless most the time shame seeing him like it after knowing how active he once was. Thanks for the reply though.
