today i cleaned my filter and pipes so i re attached everything and it took ages to prime its a tertatec ex1200 so really shouldn't i was like hmm ok when finaly primed all the extra bubbles came out the intake 
hmmm so i was like how is the water coming from the intake and vice vera then i remembered i have my pipes cross then it clicked haha took me a second to sherlock homes it but hey lol
