Hi

I have a 4ft tank with 2 plecs, gouramies, small red eyed puffers, mollie and silver shark and wondered if i could put a blue lobster in with them? I have looked on a website about blue lobster's and it says they are quite calm and only really attack their own kind.

Any advie would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Claire

CAUTION: This species is sold quite commonly at the lfs and online. It is frequently listed as semi-aggressive. The Blue Lobster is VERY CAPABLE of catching and eating bottom dwellers in your tank. I have seen this crayfish also climb plants and it can move very quickly. It SHOULD be placed in a SPECIES tank. DO NOT make the mistake of thinking that your Blue Lobster will be different and lead a completely peaceful life. If hungry, it can be opportunistic and you could lose your most valued fish.

Totally agree!! On its own is the only way to go with these. They make my long arm shrimp look like a novice in comparison when it comes to demon behaviour

well having read the posts aready answering you im gona put the cat among the pigions. With the stock you mantion you should have no problem keeping a, Fairly mature Cray in your tank!!!! the fish will only really be in danger if they fall ill, But as i always say, the personality of the Cray will have a baring on this. they are not all of the same temprement. if you wish i can pm you links, that may offer you more info from keepers around the world!!! indeen in the setup you mention, its the Cray, if it too young, that will be at risk. young Crays can often fair quite badly in a tank with fish. it seem to depend on what you want from your Cray. some like to keep them as "pets" in this case a tank with only the Cray seems to be the order of the day, but if you wish to leave the Cray to its own devices a community is fine. this said i have seen Crays tear apart fish in its tank, whilst another off the same Berry lives quite happyly with its tank mates.
