1=ok i have currently got rid of some fish from my tank am i still overstocked?(for fish see my signature) i do have a filter that does up 2 a 5 foot tank so i am over filtered i think

2=i have a plastic 5 gallon tank that i had some sortr of gold fish in it (i gave them away to a mate who can look after them better than i)will it be ok to put a heater in this tank and transfer my molly fry over as they are currently in a breeding net in my main tank................i know this will be only temprorary but will it be ok for the heater on plastic?

You may be just overstocked but if your filter is good and you don't mind a little stunted growth in your fish then I would say your'll be OK - but please don't take my advice wait for more answers off some other people aswell.
The 5 gallon tank sounds OK for molly fry.

I was asking this (sort of) previously with regards to putting a heater in my 5 gallon bucket to raise water temp for water changes (our water gets extremely cold and room temp is no good here, that fluctates more than some of my ex's moods.

The answer was that a 25w heater would be fine in the bucket (if its one of those ones that sticks in with a plastic holder and suckers.

Id assume it'll be similar to your tank - the water should stop the tank from melting, just make sure there is no contact.

I bought one from ebay, just under £12 total, the same seller is selling more HERE

i thought that putting a male fighter with 2 female fighters will fight, and if she has eggs he will become teratorial of them and kill them?

3 female mollys
1 male siamese fighter

There aern't any plecs called "red spotted plecs" but what are commonly sold as "red plecs" are sailfin plecs, does yours look anything like this;

?
Male and female siamese fighters/bettas do not mix as they are not sociable fish even amoungst themselves- you should get the male betta his own tank(anything as long as its 2gals or more) as he will throughly apreiciate it and help him live longer, if you keep him with the females they will eventually kill him or vice versa, you should then increase your female betta numbers to 4 or 5 to spread agression between them as they have a habbit of picking on each other when in groups and the more you have the more the agression gets spreads out.
Other than that the tank is fine but you really need to properly ID your plec plus sort out your betta arangement :thumbs: , the molly fry will be fine in a 5gal tank as long as it is filtered and cycled properly and heated, they will not be able to stay long though in a 5gal and will definatly outgrow it within the next coupple of months or so depending on how many you have and how old they ae.
