Lately the loaches at the aquarium store have really been catching my eye.Does anybody know what are good tankmates for loaches???Oh and also a Red tailed lobster i think it was.Does anyone know what they are compatible with. They are sooo cute

I love Loaches! I have 3 Clowns, 2 Khuli's & 1 Hillstream. You can look at my signature to see witch I have with my Loaches. I reckon you can almost keep any freshwater fish with loaches that aren't aggressive like a Oscar & Chillids.
You can't go wrong with Loaches, they each have they’re own personalities.

Ugggh, forget the lobster....it will probably eat your fish

I love loaches too, I have some clowns and queen botias in a large tank and they're so interesting and funny.I also have some kuhli and red tailed zebra loaches that are more "wormy" and they're a riot.
Most loaches can deal with pretty aggressive fish because they have spines under their eyes that they use as a defense. If you have a peaceful tank they'll work great there too (be sure and research your species though, some are a little aggressive)
Go get some loaches!!! You'll love em :D

Check out my sig..............I love my loaches and they get along so well with everyone else in the tank. Also, check out my loaches pics in the photo section. It says Loachy, Spanky and Jarr Jarr and Love Those Loaches...............also check out the tank they live in. The 60 gallon Hex tank photo is their home.
Get loaches if you have a big enough tank. I LOVE THEM.

Hey angel lover!! :)

What kind of loaches do you have your eyes on? I LOVE my loaches , but you need to be aware that they're not all friendly, funny little characters. As wuv mentioned, some of them are aggressive... some of them are very aggressive. Clowns are very friendly in a community tank, but they get massive. Kuhli loaches are adorable, peaceful, and active, provided you get a school of them. They don't get too large, but prefer a sandy substrate so they can burrow into it. The other loaches I keep are in a semi aggressive tank together with a school of tiger barbs and a red tailed black shark. They include yo yo loaches, skunk loaches, and schisturas. The yo yo's are probably the most suited to community life out of these three varieties, but I still don't think they're great community specimens. As juveniles, they're adorable, active, and friendly, but as adults they are territorial and have a bit of a bad habit of rasping on the sides of large, laterally compressed fish (like angels or silver dollars). The skunks and schisturas are extremely nasty little guys, and wouldn't be at all suitable for a community setting. Just make sure you know which kind of loaches you're getting; they're not all alike.
