So I have a school of 9 long finned zebra danios in my 55G community tank. I am pretty convinced that a bunch of the females have laid eggs as several of the females appear to have lost there huge abdomen since I got them. I have pretty course gravel (8-10mm) and reasonable heavy live plant coverage in my tank. I have a clown loach and 3 dwarf gourami that seem awful interested in the ground where I think these guys may be spawning. I have not seen any indication of fry but have two questions.
1. Between my the danios, loach and gouramis should I expect any eggs to survive without moving them to a special tank?
2. If some eggs did hatch and then attach to the walls should I expect the loach and gourami to eat up the little fry before I see them?

I am not overly concerned about having a little live food for my fish but if they would survive I wouldn't want them to starve. If I had them I would want to provide appropriate food.
Thank

in short im sure your loach & gourami would love to have danio eggs for lunch! and even better IF any fry survived for a little while (unlikely) fry for lunch even better....
if you really want a go at breeding you really need to get a little tank setup, you can buy little acrylic ones quite cheaply. im sure theres quite a few posts here if you do a search on people who have saved water after a gravel vac & have successfully hatched & raised danio fry.
good luck :D

oh i also meant to say fry are quite good at eating little leftover bits of food to survive but you could if you did see some fry drop a little powdered flake in the tank down near where they are hiding, this is fine fry food to start off with but it needs to be crushed into a fine powder for little mouths.
